Now back to the serious stuff. I know that my first post after the break did not receive too much praises, and I perfectly understand that, since people in Lebanon are not used to agreeing on one thing anymore, since they always tend to differentiate and look out for controversial issues to discuss.
From that point, I will start this post, in which I want to talk about reconciliations, which were the most talked about during the second half of last year, and with Walid Jumblatt the “frontline man”.
During the previous period, Jumblatt has reconciled with HA, Amal, Arslan, Wahhab, Aoun, Kawmi, and somehow with Syria (he’s begging for it).
Hariri also had his share in that, since he met with Berri, Nasrallah and all the parties, in addition of course to his Syrian visit where he met Bashar.
Aoun also had numerous meetings with Hariri, and reconciled with Jumblatt, while Kataeb have reopened their channels with Frangieh, and there are talks about a Christian reconciliation.
Even Geagea and Aoun shacked hands in Bkerki.
SO WHAT???
How can we as Lebanese benefit from these so called reconciliations (as I consider them mutual personal interests)?? How can we ensure they won’t disagree again anytime sooner or later, with us paying the price for any future conflict?? who can ensure us that the so called national unity Government is really working for Lebanon’s sake, not for each party’s sake, or by trading mutual interests???
Most of all, who said that the bases ( I mean the Lebanese people) are reconciled again. Why after these reconciliations, we witnessed many clashes and tensions in the streets, and why people were still be killed (in Ain Remmmaneh incident for example)???
Lebanese people are still divided and never reconciled, and big part of that because of the hate politicians caused, those same politicians who were before the elections threatening (some of them are still) of disasters and wars and conspiracies if the other party manage to rule, and yet after the elections have changed a lot of their speeches.
Let’s be honest, HA and Amal bases are still against Hariris, Sunnis in Lebanon are still afraid of HA, LFers are still in conflicts with Aounists and the contrary, Druzes are still divided no matter what Jumblatt did. Christians hate Syrian regime and they will still hate that regime for the miseries it caused.
So before any reconciliation made to take part of the “Cheese Cake”, we should allow the Lebanese people to reconcile, the same as they did in 14th March 2005, we should set them one target, and all the parties should agree on it, the target is Lebanon first and last, Lebanon not Syria, Lebanon not Iran, Lebanon not KSA, Lebanon not the US, and of course Lebanon not Israel.
In this regard, I personally think the real probem comes from both Syria and Iran, together with their allies (followers) in Lebanon.
right right right by all means. Great post cedar and i can see that u came back good this time. i didn’t want to comment on the previous post since i agree with lebanese guy but maybe u’re right we lebanese are always looking for discussions and different opinions.
what about real conciliation? i honestly dont believe it will happen in lebanon because there is lots of hate and contradictions.

Well hello to all.
Cedar, congratulations on ur relaunching, and I’m sorry for not being able to write anymore as you know my circumstances, but I will always follow your blog.
Good luck for everyone, and I hope we all have a great and civilized discussion.
As for the post, yes we refuse these kinds of reconciliations and we want a true one among people not among politicians who are used to change their skin following orders from abroad or personal interests.

They need to reconcile with their people and followers first because they betrayed them especially those 2 scummers aouni and jumbi who really deserve each others.

Ahlan Ahlan bi Cedar … Am happy you have bypased the depression and recovery periode … i remember you getting annoyed when i told you about the phases of:
Shock, Denial, Bargaining, Anger, Guilt, Depression, Recovery, Hope, and Acceptance …
now having said that and welcomed you the way i like to i will comment on the above post:
each country in the world have intersts .. iran and syria do the same as france, SKA , isreal… it will not be wise to blame all our misery on our group..
the problem is our division , as long as we are divided and week, there is always countries who are using our weekness to gain more power and control..
where to start, with the people or leaders? i beleive it should start with the leaders as at least they will hold there media from raising the tension among people and pushing them into confrontation. when people do stop hearing there leaders and there favorite media attaking the other group considering them traitors and blaming them for destroying the country on daily bases ; people will start cooling down and will start accepting the others this will lead to rebuilding bridges among the masses.. As u know very well lebanon is full with masses …
welcome back cedar .. intibih la7elak this time .. dont raise hopes a lot … Fashkha Fashka

Hello everybody and thx for keeping up with blog news.
I wouldn’t wnt to enter in any discussion with anyone, at least in these early days of relaunch, but Thaer alaway knows how to incite me.
Thaer, u know I appreciate ur ideas even if we don’t usually agre, but please spare me from this I told you so or I expected that. My decision to stop writing has nothing to do with the things u said, of course I felt disgusted like many of us or maybe all of us from the politicians and the politics. but not the way you said it, since I didn’t discover anything I don’t know already. I didn’t stop because for example March 14 is over, or Jumblatt has betrayed us or etc… I stopped because I saw that no one deserve to be written about, because in a country where everyone is looking for a piece of cheese, does not deserve wasting time. and now i came back because I have things to say and that’s it. I’m still with the same convictions, and totally convinced of my previous and current ideas, and I know you are, so let’s start from here, without anyone claiming that he was right.
Thank you
